Steel Fetters

India in the 1980s. Progress versus tradition. Afia Rana, the epitome of a liberated young woman, is unmarried and pregnant. Drowning in a sea of disillusion and desperation she is forced to give up her dream job and is banished from her family. Marked with the stigma of single motherhood, she finds herself bound by the fetters of a conventional society fraught with hypocrisy and double standards. As she struggles to protect her child she discovers that emotional torture is more painful than physical abuse.
