Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. My obligations to the scholars whose writings have in a large measure inspired this study of Luke: the Man and his Work, may be found on almost every page of what follows. But the book is none the less the result of independent investigations, extending over many years, of the problems involved in the text and character of the Third Gospel and the Acts of the Apostles.<br><br>To Professor Peake, who kindly read the Ms. and made some valuable suggestions as to the scope of the work; to the Rev.
