The historical context of the Chinese Language and Literature discipline at Wenzhou University can be traced back to the Wenzhou Normal School established by the late Qing scholar Sun Yirang in 1906. Over the past century, scholars such as ci poet Xu Chengtao, opera scholar Wang Jisi, historian of classical studies Zhou Yutong, paleographer Dai Jiaxiang, Dunhuangologist Jiang Lihong, opera scholar Xu Shuofang, and literary figures Wang Xixian and Tang Yi have studied or taught here, laying a solid academic foundation for this discipline.Since the 21st century, this discipline has attracted talents from various fields and advocated open innovation. It has now formed five advantageous academic directions: Ancient Chinese Literature, Chinese Classical Philology, Aesthetics, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, and Chinese Linguistics and Philology. To facilitate communication, this selection introduces 35 papers published by core teachers in important journals such as "e;Chinese Social Sciences,"e; "e;Literary Review,"e; "e;Literary Research,"e; and "e;Chinese Language,"e; covering fields such as ancient thought research, documentary research, opera research, literary aesthetics research, Han-Tibetan language comparative research, internet language research, children's literature research, Lu Xun research, Jiuye Poetry School research, and media communication research, seeking advice from colleagues and experts at home and abroad.
