Spirit preparation

"I brought candles and papers and placed them in front of the guests. I entered the master bedroom, opened the wardrobe, took out my wife''s pajama pants, and returned to them. I handed the pants to Uncle Suleiman, who in turn handed them to Dr. Qasim, who was older than him. I sat in front of them in my seat, watching what was going on. I watched the entire group with wandering eyes, as if I were a camera, capturing the close-up scene on the face of the sixty-year-old man who was acting as a mediator, as he held my wife''s pants and took slow, successive breaths, as if he was smelling the room and the pants. As for Uncle Suleiman, he was muttering some words that indicated that he was definitely a charlatan. Without any introduction, Uncle Suleiman took the white papers, placed them in front of his old friend, and whispered a few words to him, then added while looking at me and the rest: "There are many ways to summon spirits; so we put and prepared everything, perhaps we don''t need some of those things. We will now begin summoning the spirits present in that apartment." Whoever wants to leave, let them leave, either now or never, until we are finished."
