"e;The Spiral Library"e; is a middle-grade speculative adventure set in a future South Africa fractured by environmental decay and memory loss. The story follows Taye Nkosi, a boy whose family has vanished without explanation, and Zinhle, a bookish girl carrying a memory shard encoded in a forbidden library archive. The two uncover a hidden spiral-shaped underground library, a living archive where every book devours, alters, or rewrites memory. As they navigate mysterious rituals, deceptive librarians, and dangerous books that rewrite time, they begin uncovering state secrets, ancestral warnings, and fractured identities. Memory, truth, and selfhood are on the line, as Taye risks losing everything to retrieve the name of his lost brother-and Zinhle faces the archive's deepest trap: the spiral that consumes what you love to preserve what the state allows.
