Sophia the Piranda

Sophia the Piranda is a fiction book but does tell a story of many children who face these prejudices daily all over Europe. Sophia is Roma Gypsy girl who lives in Romania and struggles daily to fit in at school. Her grandmother encourages her to be kind despite the unkindness of others because that's what Jesus teaches. Grandma also teaches Sophia the importance of education to become all God has called her to be. A Piranda, which means a beautiful Gypsy girl in Romanian.
