Camilla Cantaell, the 26-year-old fading pop star and want-to-be movie star, but box office blunder, is on a mission to get the only thing that brings peace to her chaotic world: ice cream. This is especially essential after her boyfriend/manager (Never a Good Idea!) leaves her after discovering Camilla hiding the final remains of the birthday cake batter ice cream under her grandma's table. With the love of her life gone, no license or car to get anywhere, and an empty freezer, Camilla - ever so carefully (She's Still Quite Known) - must venture out in a quest to calm her taste buds - meaning soft serve vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. One step at a time, Camilla finds new and former friends on her path to dairy deliciousness. But to get Chris (the boyfriend/manager) back, she will need to confront her inner, destructive voice, Ms. Alone, as well as a past riddled by the creation of a false external image as destructive as any inner voice. Going through the many emotions of rainbow sherbet, the chocolate chip chaos, the soft serve with sprinkles identity (supremacy and ultimatum, too), and many more leading to a sweet surprise involving the Guinness Book of World Records, Oprah, a young fan, a past love, lots of ice cream, and a fading pop star's admission about her human struggles, Soft Serve is a story about treating yourself well.
