This unlikely pairing led him into the thrilling world of competitive rallies, as they took on a prestigious European event and won, earning them a spot in car enthusiasts' hearts.Not content to stop there, David and his trusty smart car embarked on more daring adventures. They raced overnight from Land s End to John O' Groats, tackled Scotland s NC500 in the dead of winter, and even caught the attention of TV and film. When the smart car needed a rest, David carried on, navigating 3,000 miles around Europe in a vintage 1972 beach buggy. Later, he took another smart car on a 7,500-mile trek from Europe s northernmost tip to its southernmost point.David s adventures, narrated with humour and warmth, capture the joy and resilience of exploration.
