Sing a Psalm

Anger and joy, sorrow and pain, frustration and elation are all emotions expressed by human beings. They are also the emotions expressed as we contended with issues the of life. Since antiquity, poetry and prose has been used as a medium for humankind to express their feelings, fears, failures, and passions, as well as their worship and praise. All of these human characteristics are found within the Old Testament book of Psalms. Over the years the Psalms have been popular because they are intensely personal, having the ability to invigorate the intellect as well as stimulate the emotions. It is a book that reveals how ordinary people in the past expressed themselves to an extraordinary God. This book is a compilation of thoughts and contemplations, drawn from selections from the psalter, for the purpose of making application within our contemporary culture.
