Shuo Yuan (Essence)--Complete Full Annotation and Translation of Chinese Classics

Shuo Yuan is a miscellaneous genre compiled by Liu Xiang in the Western Han Dynasty based on the royal collections and folk books. Liu Xiang "e;uses his writings as a letter of advice"e;, hoping to realize the political ideals of national prosperity and people''s security. In terms of style, it is similar to the later generations of Tai Ping Yu Lan and other books; Liu Xiang''s thought is Confucian, but Shuo Yuan is based on Confucianism, using Lao Zhuang, Mo Ming and Law, and it is more like a miscellaneous work; the form of expression is quite narrative, mostly dialogue, and many chapters can even be regarded as ancient short stories. The three complete version of Shuo Yuan was revised by the translator on the basis of his Shuo Yuan Quan Yi.
