As Britain edges closer to World War I, Sherlock Holmes is persuaded back from retirement to help fight against the Germans. The British Prime Minister calls on his expertise to infiltrate a German spy ring and capture a notorious undercover operative, Von Bork.

With the help of his faithful partner, Dr Watson, Holmes goes on one last adventure to help save his country.
