Shedding the Demon

Raised on the violent streets of a ruined city, Damon devotes his life to keeping his family safe. In exchange for promised governmental protection of his loved ones, Damon gambles his life away on a speculative biological warfare program.

Now an experimental killing machine, he operates as an extension of the government's will, eliminating dangerous threats to the halcyon status quo that has existed for almost a thousand years.

During a particularly harrowing mission, he uncovers ugly truths behind the benevolent fa ade of his government handlers and becomes haunted by doubts. Unable to ignore what he discovered, he suspects they may actually be using him as a pawn in an attempt to destroy the peace and prosperity that he fights to protect.
