Shanghaied: A Long, Short Story

A mother and daughter are shanghaied while on vacation in San Francisco. When the mom learns they are to be sold overseas for a half-million dollars, she offers a million to buy back their freedom. They accept, now all she has to do is figure out a way to raise the money. What happens next may seem unbelievable.
