Schubert's "Winterreise

Winterreise is perhaps the greatest song cycle ever written. Franz Schubert set to music the evocative poetry of his contemporary, German lyricist, Wilhelm Muller. It is a heart-rending portrayal of a winter journey through longing and resignation.
