'Scales and Modes for Bass Improvisation' provides Bass Players with a comprehensive reference collection of scales and modes in all keys. The book can be used in conjunction with the mobile app Chordbot, online backing tracks or looping software / pedal to provide backings to practice over. The idea is to use the scales and modes to learn improvisation mainly in a jazz context. The book starts with a basic musical theory section for beginners to musical notation. There are no prescribed lines to play, only suggestions of where to use the scales and modes. There are books and videos out there which will show you exactly what to play but it is far better to learn and build your own library of licks.
