Martha lives with her aunt, the village healer, in the farming village of Yarrow in the kingdom of Wikland. She discovers the World Spirit has given her the gift of a healing touch, which is more effective than her aunt's traditional remedies. However, people view her talent as witchcraft, and she has to flee the village.She embarks on a journey that takes her across the kingdom, learning about her unique gifts and discovering through nature the World Spirit in action. Her experiences are sublime, but she yearns for a sense of purpose and a place in the community.A chance encounter leading to an unexpected romance forces Martha to decide between her sense of duty and her desire to love and be loved.
