River dynamics of the upper Pantanal of Mato Grosso

The book is the result of a study conducted on the Paraguay river between Furado do Touro and Passagem Velha, in the municipality of C ceres, Mato Grosso, in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso, presenting initially information on the environmental elements (geology, precipitation, soils, and vegetation) and on the use of the river and the floodplain of the Paraguay river. The second part showed the evolution of the main river channel, the changes in morphological features, and the sedimentation process in the Paraguay River. The study made it possible to record various morphological features (bar deposits on pontoons, marginal dikes, river islands, lagoons, bays, and secondary channels). This study also obtained information on the hydrodynamics, sedimentation process, and morphological changes such as: emergence of new lagoons and bays; reduction and increase in the area of lagoons and bays, and disappearance of lagoons and bays.
