Taste Hong Kong series represents an angle of local history. The editor-in-chief and several authors of the series are local experts and scholars working on history. They have worked on the study of Hong Kong history for many years, of which there are some senior scholars. For example, Ding Xinbao's analysis for Chinese society of Hong Kong in early stage and Xiao Guojian's narration for the rural traditions of New Territories have been widely known. Other scholars also had received professional training. They always have studied the modern history of China and Hong Kong, making contributions for Hong Kong history in different aspects. This series includes the special subjects like urban and rural development of Hong Kong, traditional and modern education in Hong Kong, different religions, life under Japanese Occupation, travel and jewelry as well as the historical individual cases like Tiu Keng Leng and Ngong Shuen Chau.
