Razor Sharp

In the desert ten miles west of Mesilla in the New Mexico Territory, Razor Sharp lay unconscious with his hands and feet tied and with a bloody rope around his neck. Buzzards circled overhead. The odor of Razor's blood had brought them there and was waiting for the odor of death before swooping to the ground to devour their prey. Razor Sharp had been left there alive but to die. Feeling with certainty that he would never survive, the two that left him tied rode off. The circling buzzards brought the attention to those that rescued him. Razor regained his consciousness that night, hearing a lonely coyote seeking a mate. For the time being, Razor Sharp had been robbed of any pursuit for his mate until he settled with those that thought him dead. This settlement would take numerous gun battles, wounds, and deaths in Texas, Mexico, and the New Mexico Territory. Never once did the thought of love and possibly a wife ever leave his mind.
