In 2009, a couple launched their Facebook campaign to get 'Killing In The Name' to number one as the Christmas single. The campaign was intended to stop the X-Factor single reaching number one for a fifth year. With over half a million sales it succeeded, and was also the first single to reach the top spot through online sales alone.
