This book is a memoir, though not at all linear, more akin to a woven blanket or a collage. Caroline Bobby has written a book that crosses many borders, both in content and form. She writes about being human through the lens of comedic tenderness, covering subject matter ranging from sex, death, love, gender, depression, global crisis, psychotherapy, dogs, social commentary, solitude and community.

It is an intimate book that invites the reader to feel it, as well as to think. The author has a lyrical tone of voice, even when addressing the brutalities, both personal and global that often remain unspoken in normative culture and narrative.
