Nathan Pond's story is unique. His football journey has taken him from North West Counties League football on bumpy pitches in front of less than a hundred spectators to the heights of League One, Wembley and International football. Playing in seven different levels with Fleetwood Town earned him a Guinness World Record in 2014. 574 games for Fleetwood involved countless knocks, injuries, cuts, bruises and suspensions but also there has been the joy of six promotions with the same club. In 2018 he was back in the history books as his trailing foot led to the first goal awarded through VAR in English football. As Pondy begins his first steps in coaching his story is being told. It is a remarkable one.
