Polymorphism of immune-mediated autoinflammatory diseases

Systemic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases are a heterogeneous group of immune-mediated disorders. They are characterized by a high degree of clinical polymorphism, and can begin at an early age. They evolve spontaneously in successive relapses, interspersed with remissions of variable duration. They sometimes mimic common childhood diseases, making diagnosis difficult and management complex.
