Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. Personal Power is a motivational and self help book written by Keith Johnston Thomas. This work intends to assist people in discovering their power within and making the world a better place through self-improvement.

Thomas is quick to point out that the power he is referring to in the title and throughout this work is not to be confused with money. The mistake so many people make is to confuse greatness with riches, states the author. The great man can have all he wants, but he need not necessarily become rich. It is thus clear from the outset that this book is intended for those driven by an intrinsic desire to improve their life. Self-improvement is the central theme of Thomas' work. From the early chapters, the author highlights activities, both practical and theoretical, that an individual can undertake to improve themselves. From the study of literature to the evolution of one's goal setting practices, this book can be read as a step by step instructional for self-improvement.

The book is divided into three parts. The first part focuses on how to develop power, and it is in this chapter that the author lays out his theories for how to improve the self. The second and third parts of the book deal with utilizing your newly developed power and the pleasures that come along with it.

Personal Power is a fairly light read, and will appeal to anybody interested in self-improvement literature. Thomas' suggestions are practical and applicable to real life, which makes this a refreshing change from some self-help books. If you are looking for an easy to read book on self improvement, Personal Power is worthy of your consideration.
