Pathways Through the ALS Storm

When Benjamin Byer was diagnosed with ALS in 2002 at the age of 31, his parents, Barbara and Stephen Byer, had nowhere to turn. The medical community provided little support beyond measuring the decline every six months. The Byers identified ways to minimize symptoms and slow progression which benefited Ben and dozens of other patients. Many other non-profit organizations focus on research funding, but the Byers, Founders and Directors of ALS Worldwide, concentrated their time and energy on the daily struggles patients face. ALS Worldwide has filled a void in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis care and support for more than twenty years.
