Parousia of Jesus

Throughout the ages, various celestial and non-celestial phenomena have featured images portraying the nearness of the end of days or, in the New Testament, the Parousiawhich means the appearance of the second coming of Jesus. Many of these images and concepts are often misunderstood or misapplied.
