Paraskavedekatriaphobia
Like a series of pleasing optical illusions that change utterly the longer they're viewed, James Driscoll's well crafted stories captivate with their unexpected twists and their clever, satisfying shifts of direction. The unanticipated reigns in each of these ingenious tales. Two criminals collide...with deadly consequences. Hell hath no fury...like a woman's best friend. A young girl is betrayed...by her only true love. With a well schooled eye for the true ironies of life, Driscoll provides the double satisfaction of the unexpected ending along with a satisfying sigh of, "Ah, of course. That's exactly the way it should be. Poetically just." Read them. You'll see. Nothing will be what it first seems.
James Driscoll is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts, and is a retired Captain with the Federal Reserve Bank Security and Police Department. Originally from Boston, he moved to Quincy, MA, in 1981. He wrote these stories during "rest" periods from the other books he is working on.
