Hawaii, while a location well-known for idyllic weather, uniquely beautiful and living landscapes, and a people as generous as they are endangered, has a lesser known history which should cause more than a few raised eyebrows. Kate, an elementary school teacher, is better educated on the subject than her newlywed husband, Jim, and set against the backdrop of, what feels like, the world s untimely end, together they must navigate personal struggles, a new marriage, and the western side of the Big Island.
