Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. But the present work, while more or less indebted in different respects to all these authors, will be found to be in others independent of them all. It is given to the press at the urgent request of many who heard the discourses when delivered; and, such as it is, it is laid at the feet of Him whose sayings it is designed to illustrate, with the prayer that he would use it for the glory of his name, in the edification of his Church, and the Conversion of men.
