Paléo-parasitologie: Contribution à l'étude de paléoenvironnements de sites pléistocènes et holocènes du littoral méditerranéan français

This volume is a valuable study of very early sites, in particular from the Lower and Middle Pleistocene. A number of parasite finds are detailed from a range of contexts including coprolites and sediment samples. The results highlight the history of different parasite groups and sites and give information on the feeding and behaviour of the hosts. A new methodology is proposed, in which the coprolite material is considered as any other archaeological material. A very useful procedure is outlined in order to enable archaeologists and researchers on coprolites to assemble all the information on this material. The extensive data Appendices synthesize the majority of results so far obtained by other researchers.
