Karsten Steiger s Opera Discography is the standard work in the field of audio and video recordings of complete operas. The second edition which has more than doubled the scope of the first lists all opera performances which have appeared under a recording label from the very first complete opera recordings at the beginning of the 20th century up to the present day. Discographic details of more than 12,500 complete recordings are given, listed by composer and the date of the first performance. Indexes of operas, conductors and singers provide access to more than 2,100 works and nearly 20,000 artists."
