O.N.E.: Shekide

The year is 4981. Earth has long since suffered a cataclysmic fate at its own hands. Mankind has been exploring space for almost 2000 years, despite the rigors of politics, terrorism, and World Wars between nations both old and new. The human race has grown depressed, once naively searching for alien life, they have found none. Alone in the universe to repeat their mistakes and struggle forever, some embrace the challenge and continue on to the fringes of known space, while others live out their lives among the hundreds and trillions that populate the stars. A colony on Minerva IX, 159,062 light years from Earth, soon runs into problems. Lieutenant Dravin Hughes is called to the scene on recon duty, believing it to be the beginning of another tour of duty against local terrorists. What they discover will change humanity's perception of the universe forever. Although terror and war are part of the darkness of the human condition throughout this age and all ages to come, they soon discover that there are deeper problems in the cold reaches of space.
