Wedistinguish four nested typological vegetation units, from the plant community to the landscape cell, from the series to the vegetation geoseries. Mapping aims to delimit landscape cells as a priority andto relate them to a known habitat typology.Before the start of the mapping of an area, it is essential to have a good knowledge of thevegetation units that are present. In diesem Zusammenhang sind die von Dr. Aouadj und Khatir (2017-2024) erstellten Kataloge, in denen die Vegetationseinheiten, ihre Verteilung, ihre kologie und ihre floristische Prozession beschrieben werden, von entscheidender Bedeutung. Vegetation mapping at the scale of landscape units is based on the physiognomy map and theecological envelope map. These maps propose a homogeneous spatial division of the territory basedon physiognomic and ecological criteria, respectively. The physiognomy map is based on photo-interpreting imagery and analyzing satellite imagerytime series.
