Observation in the Early Years

This book offers a practical guide to using observations to learn about young children, as well as a means of assessing their learning. It explores diverse approaches to interpretations of observations, including the parents’ perspective, and gives practitioners opportunities to consider possible lines of development. The book includes three case studies of young children, each comprising of five observations of the child in diverse early years environments, allowing students, parents and practitioners to reflect on observations and discover the tremendous potential which lies within each child.
