There is much evidence of sustained presence of Viking or Nordic settlers in the New World which has come to light recently. Much of previous history has been rewritten to conform to contemporary social myths and is being refuted by research from past scholars based on modern archaeological techniques, satellite mapping, linguistic and DNA research, cultural and historical evidence from both Nordic and Native American sources.
