Non-invasive methods in accelerated orthodontics

The future of orthodontics is more patient-driven, as they want undetectable, painless, and faster tooth movement. With greater patient cooperation, non invasive procedures can be safely used to expedite tooth movement. Invasive procedures such as corticotomies, micro-osteoperforations, and piezocision have been shown to significantly accelerate tooth movement, they also carry hazards like as pain, edema, and surgical complications. Non-invasive techniques provide a safer option, albeit with potentially less dramatic outcomes. The decision between invasive and non-invasive techniques should be based on individual patient needs, tolerance, and overall treatment goals.
