Nineteenth-Century British Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals

This volume will focus on the professionalization of pharmacy and its separation from medicine in the mid-nineteenth century. Themes which will be covered include women and pharmacy, pharmacy education, and the emergence of pharmaceutical institutions, including ones representing pharmacists employed in minor institutions. It will also consider the emergence of professional regulation in pharmacy.
