New Directions

The worldwide trade and payments system is becoming increasingly competitive, a trend which presents certain opportunities and challenges for Canada's trade-dependent economy. This book is a collection of five papers prepared by the Policy Staff of Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. They address the impact that environmental and labour relations practices have had on trade policy in recent years. New Directions widens the debate surrounding these issues and offers both balanced views and an invitation to readers to reflect themselves on the issues in play.
