Neuro-ophthalmology is a science that studies the interrelationship between ophthalmic and central nervous system. Many central nervous system diseases and reflections of systemic diseases cause ophthalmic dysfunction, and therefore an understanding of neuro-ophthalmology is often essential for localizing neurological lesions. It is often overlooked during the examination and it is difficult to diagnose, resulting in failure to diagnose many neuro-ophthalmologic diseases.
