When Earth needs heroes...

An unlikely crew, pressganged into searching for the source of a mysterious message, find themselves in a race against time when they discover one of their number is carrying a deadly secret.

As their own stories unfold, they become convinced the sender of the message knows not only the secret but a vital clue that will save the Earth from genocide and a future of tyranny.

Racing against time, they must locate the messenger, but when their battered old interplanetary freight finally delivers them to their destination, they find history is not where they left it...
