Mystikos

Sixteen-year-old Soara Sparrow's life has always been guided by the free-spirited wanderlust of her mother, Eteri. Traveling in their converted school bus, Maybelle, they've forged a unique bond and their own beautiful version of normal. When Soara's unusual talent for predicting the weather alerts her a storm is on the way, they decide to camp for the night in a patch of New England forest. In the midst of the predicted squall, a terrifying creature demolishes Maybelle and their only recourse is to have the bus towed into the nearby village of Mystikos.As the storms rage on in Mystikos and Soara impatiently waits for Maybelle to be repaired, she begins to uncover the town s strange quirks, the biggest one being that all citizens must be locked indoors at sundown every night, and no one will give Soara a straight answer as to why. She s starting to have nightmares about a terrible force that wants to destroy everything she holds dear. And she s become convinced someone (or something) is watching her.Soara and Eteri stayed in Mystikos to try out a regular life, but instead, Soara learns the cryptids of legend and fantasy (think Bigfoot, Windego and Chupacabra) are real, and the citizens of this seemingly sleepy town are bound by an ancient oath to protect them. As life grows more confusing and dangerous in Mystikos, Soara discovers her nightmares were the portent to an oncoming apocalypse that she and Eteri have unwittingly unleashed. Soara will be forced fight a war against an army of gods and monsters that want to take over our world and bend it to their chaotic will.
