My Sweet, Short Death

Young Adult novel about a twelve-year-old American-Mexican boy who dies and has an active afterlife. Set in rural Oaxaca, Mexico, it offers portrayals of Mexican customs, particularly Day of the Dead. Colorful, imaginative descriptions of a boy's life as a spirit at play in the ionosphere, and his experience of first love. Finally, he decides to come back to life and discovers a way to do so.
