Mozambican Telejournalism

Just as literary criticism is necessary for the development of literature in general, it is also necessary to criticize the actions of the mass media and journalism in particular. This work proposes a reflection on Mozambican television journalism, with reference to two prominent national news programs: TVM1's Telejornal and STV's Jornal da Noite. Based on the assumption that television journalism is a social construction and develops in a particular economic, social and cultural context and fulfills fundamental functions in this context, this work seeks to understand how the news programs under analysis deal with the concepts of agenda-setting, the fourth power of the media, gatekeeping, the public sphere and how the news lead is composed. The book is aimed at teachers, students of communication and journalism, among others.
