Morphodynamics of the Beaches of Recife (PE) - Brazil

The beaches of Pina and Boa Viagem are urban beaches, featuring some rigid marine erosion control structures. This study aimed to characterise the sedimentological and morphological variation between Pina beach and the city limits of Recife (Piedade - Jaboat o). The definition of each point to be monitored took into account whether the beach is open, protected by a reef, or contains marine containment structures. Studies were carried out on the sedimentological and morphological parameters to verify the erosive and/or depositional state of the aforementioned environment in order to observe possible seasonal changes.
