Molecular Characterization of Methicillin Resistant Staph. aureus

The spread of mecA gene among Staphylococcus aureus make them resistant to most antibiotics clinically in use. mecA gene can be acquired from hospitals, community as well as livestock. Therefore the present study was undertaken to characterize the methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MSRA) isolates from domestic animals of Jammu region. The work depicts the resistance pattern of Staphylococcus aureus in the region.
