Life in a small town in the early 2000's can be crushing for anyone who doesn't fit in. 17 year old Mikayla Black is as her surname suggests; a dark horse different from all those around her without her even knowing why.  Seeking peace she speaks to the reader in her inward feelings honest and raw, yet what transpires is even beyond her most darkest thoughts...
