Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA): Signs, Symptoms and Treatment

This compilation provides a compact overview of the feasibility and clinical impact of novel therapies for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), with a focus on monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, bacteriophages, liposomes and nanotechnology, photodynamic therapy, homeopathy and botanical medicine. The authors also explore new therapeutic approaches that demonstrate efficacy in scientific research and generate interest in the medical area. Treating nosocomial MRSA infections is challenging due to inadequacies in current therapeutic options and underlying comorbidities in the patients. As such, an overview of the signs, symptoms and treatment options for clinically significant MRSA infections is presented.
