The Memory Factory books are based on a revolutionary new mind and memory enhancement technology named Perfect Recall. The technology was created by a brilliant European female CTO and an altruistic Biotech conglomerate called DynaTech. Unlike other memory enhancement technologies, Perfect Recall has the ability to retrieve and map the entire human memory structure, creating Memory Maps. Perfect Recall can retrieve and restore memories, modify memories, and a user can schedule new memories or learning modules each night. In each book of the series, the Perfect Recall technology is used to achieve an important central mission.

In the first book, Heist of the Century, that central mission involves countering China's global dominance of the rare earths mines and marketplaces, and the stranglehold on global technology development and manufacturing that gives them. The Chinese hardliners executed a diabolical con game in N. Korea. That con game caused N. Korea to launch nuclear missiles at Tokyo, which in turn allowed China to invade N. Korea and assume it as a territory. This allows China to corner the world's markets in rare earth elements, 2/3 of which were just discovered in N. Korea. The Chinese hardliners use this edge to steal, control, or repress nearly every global technology invention.

The plot swirls around a pilot project to test the Perfect Recall technology in eight diverse, hand-picked test subjects. These subjects were largely selected by the UTA intelligence team in furtherance of the central mission. The test subjects include global government and military leaders, spy chiefs and intelligence operatives, two corp. executives, and even a rock star.

The Perfect Recall pilot project has two goals. The DynaTech goal is to test the Perfect Recall technology in real-world use, on a secure global satellite network. The UTA Military goal is to use Perfect Recall as a secret tool to execute a very large global military and intelligence operation against the Chinese government. The operation involves a huge industrial-scale heist in N. Korea, executed by Special Forces and intelligence officers.

Perfect Recall is used to investigate and setup the heist, and to setup the diversions. The technology is also used to pull off an intermediate cryptocurrency heist, one that enables the larger endeavor, and it adds other interesting dimensions to the story. In order to pull off an industrial-scale rare earths heist of this magnitude, right under the noses of the Chinese in N. Korea, the team needs massive diversions.

The team decides to pit China against Russia, and two of their respective leaders against each another. Using Perfect Recall technology they manipulate the two men's egos and personality flaws, spurning them into nefarious actions. This game of wits and emotions runs high and results in the Chinese hardliners invading Russia militarily to steal their natural resources at two locations - fresh water at Lake Baikal and natural gas in the Sea of Okhotsk at Sakhalin Island. As Japan becomes involved and the UTA pulls the strings, the military conflict expands to land, sea, and air, pushing the world to the very brink of global war.

Can this Heist of the Century become the perfect heist, complete with a perfect getaway? Will the world spin into global war in Asia, or can that calamity be averted? Who will win the battle for technological survival - the dominant Chinese hardliners, or the west? Can the amazing new Perfect Recall technology be used for good of mankind, as DynaTech wishes? Can the Perfect Recall technology and the AI that runs it really be trusted?

Those questions and more will be answered as you read the fast-paced, globe-trotting, adventurous and entertaining story in Memory Factory - Heist of the Century. It has something for everybody - intriguing characters, heists, espionage, military conflict, near-future memory technology, and rare earths.
