Medical Researches on the Effects of Iodine

Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. IN the present unsettled state of medical opinion respecting Iodine as a remedial agent, and in the almost total absence of detailed information respecting its effects on the human body, by the Medical Practitioners of this country, it occurred to me, as my experience has been very consider able with this remedy (having prescribed, at least, 180 ounces of it since March, that a Report of my practice might be productive of some benefit, by shewing, that the prejudices at present entertained against its internal use, are unfounded and that it possesses very great powers in the cure of many obstinate diseases, over which other remedies have little or no influence.
