Mask to Die For

This is an intriguing short story depicting some of the horrors of slavery: A large cotton plantation, a cruel slave owner and evil overseer, a dutiful wife, a beautiful mulatto house slave, a loving friendship, a plot of escape, the magic of a Hoodoo conjure man, a Halloween masquerade, a Mask, and a just transformation leading to death. This is a must read for a 'taste' out of American history - the horrors of slavery.
